DJ Nukem saapuu accesss.orgin Tribal Helsinki -klubille, Hotelli Hesperiaan, lauantaina 1. helmikuuta. Ohessa hieman miehen taustaa ja ajatuksia.
accesss.org: What is your real name and where were you born?
NukemMy real name is Alex. Im italien born in Switzerland.
accesss.org: How did you end up as dj?
NukemIt was when I was 17 and into Hip Hop. I had promised to my best friend
that someday I would go to a house club. He took me to a club. It was great.
I stayed there all nite long watching dj play. The day after I bought my first
accesss.org: What are your musical preferences?
NukemI like innovative music; music which is groovy and sexy and not too commercial.
Not hard nor soft.
accesss.org: What is the most memorable thing that has happened to you while djing?
NukemThe most memorable is the people in club Q (club in Zürich where Nukem has
residency). People regocnise me as someone they know well rather than some international
pro-dj. They say that when they lsiten to the music in club Q it takes only a minute to
figure out Im playing. Thats fantastic. When Im abroad they call me or write sms asking
when Im coming back.
accesss.org: How long have you been producing? How did you end up producing music?
NukemI produced my first record with Chab in 2000. A month before I was playing in a club
and this guy I didn't know back then came to me and told me he loved my music. He said
that he wanted to do something with me and asked me to come to his studio some day.
This guy was Chab :) We produced Shaiva (Cyber Records NL) and the track was charted n°1 in a lot of
important charts and in the Global Underground Nu-Breed mixed by Danny Howell.
Respect to CHAB.
accesss.org: How does producing differ from djing?
NukemProducing and djing are two comletely different things but they also have lot in common.
In a studio you create one track all alone, playing with your mind. When djing you have
people around you partying and listening you to create a whole set from different tracks.
Both are all about good feeling.
